No, wait. That was a lie

Some tablet shit, needed to loosen up. I guess "Daily" was a lie. More like biweekly.

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!

So I seem to have misplaced the cable to my scanner and need to buy another one, which isn't that big of a deal after all. I mean, I still have my PC tablet, right? Well, no, I don't, because one of my styluses is missing as well, along with the nib in the other one (the one I bought because I lost the first one and then found it two days after the new one arrived). But hey, not a problem, I've been meaning to buy some felt nibs for a while now, so here's an excuse for me to do that.

Instead, here's something I did with a mouse in MS Paint, the purest of all artistic mediums.

Other things I keep loosing in this room include socks, DS games, books, comics, and cigarettes. Now THAT is some serious bullshit.

Still drawing daily, but won't be updating until I solve said problems.

First of June

The images were apparently uploaded in reverse, so the top image is the last one and the bottom is the first.

Bottom four were done in 60 sec each, the top one was 90. I feel like I'm getting the hang of it, but for right now they just look "off" to me.

Pose Maniac

Pose Maniacs uses hundreds of skinless models from Poser and cycles them at 15-90 second intervals for gesture and quick sketch. It's really great because it keeps you on your toes, beeping in warning every time it changes models. The above were done at 60 seconds each.

The only complaints I have are that 1) Poser isn't the best source for anatomically correct models and 2) the lines of the musculature get confusing when the model is in an odd pose or at an odd angle (or both). It's not great for actual anatomical reference, but great for understanding pose, form and shape at interesting (and fuckin' weird) angles, at least as best as Poser can provide.

My figure drawing is, in a word, terrible, so I'll be doing as many of these as I can at some point each day to train my eye.

Back on Track with Doodles

Wow, I've been neglecting this to death! Been working past couple of weeks and will be all summer, so I'll just be posting doodles and shit. Should be practicing instead though, but I probably won't have the time.

Conrad and Collette

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU-- Been helping moving the restaurant that I work at to another location. I lifted a God damn oven. Finally found a day off where I could work on this, and maybe, hopefully, not neglect the rest of the blog.

Used a brush pen on top of tracing paper for this. Lost a lot of control at some points, but overall I like it. This was supposed to be longer, with dialogue, etc, but I'll be loosing time all summer from work and such, so this is all I'm gonna do.

Question and Huntress

The layout I came up with on Friday. All of the panels are based on frames from the JLAU clip, and I'm using the character designs from the Plus4 guy from the last post.

Back

More from Preston Blair's book. By the time I got to the pig, it was time to eat, and when I got back I was like "Fuck it, XBox time". I gotta get into the habit of taking more time with those curvy, fatty forms. Probably should develop a better work ethic, too.

Warm-ups for today, copied from some super talented drawfag on Plus4's /co/. I think I fucked up the proportions on Wolfbatman, but hey...

UPDATE: Came up with something and decided to draw thumbnails instead. Also, rescanned above pic.

MINE!

Been going back to the mechanical pencil for smaller details. Feels feckin' weird. Also, I can't draw boots, apparently :( I blame the source...

Traveling this weekend, so probably no posts until Monday or Tuesday.

Something or Other Pencils

UPDATE: So I tried to ink this one with a super-fine Faber-Castell India ink pen, and found myself on eggshells the whole time! I was barely touching the paper, hardly putting any pressure on the pen at all, because I wanted to keep the lines thin, and as a result I was all over the place.

Here's the results anyway, and maybe I'll get the hang of it later.

I hear that they go for the groin when threatened...

Was drawing something, but stopped due to lack of interest. Something else instead, just to post.

Munk and Long-Legs

Graduating today from grade 14.

When I started inking this, it started off pretty good and easy, but I crashed on the smaller details, like the kid's feet and hair. Then again, I didn't "ink" it so much as I traced over it with a ballpoint pen. Also have the ape's hair cutting into the back of his head.

Just needed to post something. I'll probably make a better pic with these guys tomorrow.

Pencils below.
